English Speech about Landslides

Good morning all. SYALOOM !!

Honorable all the juries, the committee of this English speech contest and all of you that present now. First of all, let us give thanks to Jesus Christ for the blessings and gifts, so we can join this program without any problem. This time, I will bring a speech with the theme of The Natural Disasters “Landslides”.

Recent years, we often hear about the natural disasters happening everywhere especially landslides. Landslides is no stranger to our ears, especially in our beloved environment.

We have known that a landslide event subsoil shift from higher areas to lower areas suddenly. The factors causing landslides are manifold, but I think, generally landslides occur because human don’t keep and conserve nature, according to the mandate from God for us.

Landslides ussualy occur in the mountains and during the rainy season, especially now that the rain is being diligent flushed in our city, but thank God, because until now, there has been no news about landslides as happened last year.

               

We can see examples of landslides in our environment in the Unit 1 Nazareth. Unit 1 of Nazareth is an prone area to landslides. According to the story, unit 1 was once overgrown with many green trees, but due to felling trees arbitraly, due to the ongoing excavation plus a heavy rainy, making the land became landslide and making the landslide affected area continues to expand.

Due to landslides, the ecosystem becomes disrupted. Many plants are dead, many fallen trees, many animals lost their homes, and many of our brothers and sisters who lost their homes because of the natural disaster.

As a good church people, we should be able to keep the natural disasters that don’t result in adverse neightbor. Nature that God leave for us, well used as well as possible, we should not attach great importance to pleasure ourselves without looking at the natural world around us.

We are given the responsibility by God to keep and converse natural world around us. So, let us run the mandate that God has given to us with the best possible way, so that future no longer heard of landslides or other natural disasters in our environment.

Start from now, let’s keep our environment for our future because no matter how small work you do, will be felt by our future one day later.
